The highly anticipated Aventador SVJ was unveiled in a worldwide premiere during Monterey Car Week in California at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” among a sea of owners, fans and enthusiasts. Taking the stage front and center in a beautiful Verde Alceo finish, the newest and most technologically advanced version of the flagship V12 model to date was also accompanied by a stunning Urus in Blu Astraeus exterior and a Huracán Perfomante Spyder in striking Rosso Cadens.
The new masterpiece from Sant’Agata Bolognese, produced in 900 units, is a gem of engineering and technology combined with highly refined design that makes no compromises. Besides guaranteeing ultimate handling and performance as well as driving perfection and enjoyment, the Aventador SVJ is the fastest production car to have lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit, completing 20.6 km in just 6:44,97 minutes.
Providing an output of 770 CV and acceleration of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, Aventador SVJ is a fusion of Lamborghini’s most promising technical elements, including the ALA active aerodynamics system. Together with extraordinary lines designed for aerodynamic supremacy, these elements ensure the track and performance superiority traditionally denoted by the ‘Jota’ suffix, while SV stands for Superveloce (‘super-fast’).
In addition, Aventador SVJ 63, a special edition produced in a unique configuration and with extensive use of carbon fiber, was presented to select media and invited guests, and will be displayed prominently on the Concept Lawn of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It commemorates Lamborghini’s inaugural year of 1963, and only 63 examples will be produced.
“The Aventador SVJ is an innovative car and represents the absolute pinnacle of our super sports car product range,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali. “The challenge to Lamborghini designers and engineers was to improve the purest essence of the Lamborghini super sports car, drawing on every inspiration, from spaceships to jet fighters: all the most exceptional examples of super-fast, super-athletic, aerodynamic superiority. The Aventador SVJ takes another step into the future, shaping the potential for super sports car development.”
The unveiling of the Aventador SVJ was the beginning of an epic weekend. Lamborghini is also celebrating past icons with the historic gathering of Islero and Espada at The Quail, with a stunning collection of rare examples from across the globe.
Moreover, doors opened for the first time to the Lamborghini Lounge Monterey, a beautiful villa outpost near Pebble Beach that provides a home base for Lamborghini throughout the duration of Car Week, where owners, celebrities and friends of Lamborghini have been invited to experience firsthand the atmosphere and excellence born in Sant’Agata.
