David Coulthard: from a single-seater to the Urus

David Coulthard, the British former Formula One racing driver, recently visited Automobili Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Coulthard took part in 247 races, won 13 of them including the prestigious British and Monaco Grands Prix twice, and finished on the podium on 62 occasions.
After meeting Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali and touring the facility, including the Aventador and Huracán assembly lines as well as the Factory 4.0 assembly line, dedicated entirely to the Urus Super SUV, Coulthard also had the chance to sit behind the wheel of the super sports cars from the House of the Raging Bull.
“Of course I appreciate performance, that’s what my career was based on,” he said after test-driving the Aventador S and the Huracán Performante Spyder. But at 47 and with a family at home, his attention was caught by something more… comfortable. And that’s where Urus comes in: “This is a star car!” he exclaimed as he got out of the world’s first SSUV. “You have space, comfort, performance and style right there.”
