Huracán Performante Is the 2018 Motor Trend ‘Best Driver's Car’

Huracán Performante was named 2018 “Best Driver’s Car” by Motor Trend, one of the leading media outlets in automotive, after beating all other contenders during Best Driver’s Car Week, a five-day online event aimed at picking a winner among 12 high-performance cars while pushing them to their limits.
The Performante astonished the auto world for having reworked the concept of super sports car and taken the notion of performance to levels never seen before, and its “raging technology” still enthralls anybody sitting behind its wheel. “Startling,” said Motor Trend. Here’s why.
The 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine delivers an overwhelming 640 CV (470 kW), enabling to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and the seven-speed dual clutch transmission has been remapped and further perfected to match the increased performance in comparison to its predecessor. The electronically controlled all-wheel drive system with rear mechanical self-locking differential guarantees exceptional speed and precision in transferring torque between the axles, resulting in superior control in all driving situations.
Depending on driving mode – chosen through the ANIMA selector, named after the Italian word for 'soul' – and road conditions, the system continuously varies torque distribution, with thrilling results that include improved power transfer on bends, during acceleration and on demanding stretches, as well as better grip and safety during everyday driving. The passive dampers featured in the double wishbone system, front and rear, come with optional magneto-rheological suspension. Both the passive and active suspension systems are designed to improve body and wheel control, especially on track.
The carbon-ceramic brakes with fixed monoblock calipers in aluminum have been further upgraded, while the brand-new Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres offer unprecedented levels of grip.
Moreover, the patented active aerodynamics system called Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA, or ‘wing’ in Italian) provides an active variation of aero load for high down force or low drag, controlling air and directing it in its favor.
Last but not least, the use of the Forged Composites®, a shapable forged carbon fiber material patented by Automobili Lamborghini, is an extraordinary touch that helps further reduce the weight of the vehicle.
