Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe kicks off in Monza

It was a high-adrenaline weekend for the first round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, with over thirty Huracán Super Trofeo EVOs on the starting grid for the first two races of the season.

In the Pro class, the first race win went to 20-year-old Dutchman Max Weering ahead of Milan Teekens and Maxime Oosten, all from the Johan Kraan Motorsports team. It was a race full to twists and turns, with five different drivers fighting for the lead and the Dutchman able to move into first place on the last lap of the race.

A winning debut in the Pro-Am class also for the duo of Andrea Cola and Dmitry Gvazava, coming in fourth with the Target Racing team colors. Finally, Boutsen Ginion took a double victory, with Claude-Yves Gosselin and Renaud Kuppens first in the Am class and the team of Pierre Feligioni and Daniel Waszczinski scoring in the Lamborghini Cup.

Alberto Di Folco, who was involved in a collision in Race 1 and forced to retire after just three laps, went on to dominate Race 2 by a wide margin. The Imperiale Racing team driver was firmly in the lead right from the start, taking first place in the Pro class ahead of Sebastian Bathasar and Noah Watt (Leipert Motorsport). Third place for the Target Racing team composed of Raúl Guzman and 19-year-old Glenn van Berlo, making his debut in the competition.

While the Pro-Am saw the success of Poles Andrzej Lewandowski and Karol Basz (VS Racing), the Am class was won by Automobile Tricolore’s Raffaele Giannoni, who was back after a year’s break. Folco’s Imperiale Racing also celebrated the victory of Hans Fabri, who claimed the Lamborghini Cup.
